Locations for future photo walks

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

We’ve had some walks in the East End, the West End and Downtown (check out the map!) so is it time to go further afield?

Post your suggestions for future walk locations here, in the Flickr thread; I’ll add a few to each new poll.

I’ll post a consolidated list after the jump… (more…)

Broadview and Withrow Park, March 27th

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

The following weekend is Easter, so I thought we’d do the next Toronto Photo Walk just two weeks after the previous (and wet!) one rather than wait four weeks.

Date: Saturday 27th March 2010
Meet: 10am outside Chester subway station
Route: Through Withrow Park and continue south to Queen St. [map]
Lunch: The Roy, 894 Queen St E.
Afternoon: West on Queen then cut NW to Broadview & Gerrard St, through Riverdale Park
Post-walk bar: Willow, 193 Danforth Ave.

Weather forecast looks better than the Queens Park walk!

Photo walk maps

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

I don’t think I’ve mentioned it recently, but I’ve created a Google Map summary of the various walks – I’m testing out some plugins so I can include maps with each walk’s plan/review post, but in the meantime you can find the summary map here.

Queens Park / Wellesley, March 13th

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

The poll to pick the location for the March 13th photo walk ended in a tie between Queens Park / Wellesley area and Tommy Thompson Park / Leslie St spit, with the Old Mill area in third. I flipped a coin to break the tie, and so the winning location is Queens Park / Wellesley.

Date: Saturday 13th March 2010
Meet: 10am on the SE corner of Queens Park & Charles (nearest TTC = Museum subway)
Route: roughly E on Charles then S on Jarvis (~2.3km)
Lunch: Churchmouse & Firkin (To Be Confirmed)
Afternoon: roughly W on Wellesley, around Queens Park, E on College then S on Yonge (~3.0km)
Post-walk bar: Elephant & Castle …or… Wolf & Firkin (To Be Confirmed)

Here’s even a map of the route!
