Toronto Photo Walks

The polar bear dip beat out the Beaches fun run in our poll, so we’ll be shooting at Sunnyside again (same as the 2011 Hair of the Dog walk).

Date: Sunday 1st January 2012.
Meet: 11:30am at Sunnyside Pavillion. [map]
Route: The Polar Bear Dip is at noon, then we’ll head over to the Cadillac Lounge for lunch followed by a short stroll over to The Gladstone and (if livers are willing) on to The Drake.

It’s going to be a shorter walk than usual because it’s Christmas Eve, but some people want to get out and shoot.

Date: Saturday 24th December 2011.

Meet: 9:00am for breakfast at New York Cafe (they don’t do reservations at weekends) [map]

Route: Broadview -> Gerrard -> Logan -> Danforth

Lunch: We’ll end the walk at a pub (to be determined) [Auld Spot; Dora Keogh; Allens]

We’ve done a couple of off-schedule walks recently (Christmas Market and Seasonal Lights) and we’ve got a couple more before we’re back to “normal” in the new year

Our next walk will be a morning-only one on December 24th – yes, on Christmas Eve! Then there’s the Hair Of The Dog walk, which will coincide with the Polar Bear Dip (similar to the 2011 HotD walk). I’ll be posting details of these shortly.

p.s. We’ll also be scheduling a Q&A session regarding the exhibition – it’ll be in the first week or two of January.

Sorry about posting this after the fact, but it was organised at short notice and only “declared an official walk” during the walk! I’m really only creating this entry so that I have a record of the walk, it’s hashtag (TOPW:SL) and somewhere to attach the slideshow.

Let’s squeeze in an off-schedule meetup at the Toronto Christmas Market in the Distillery District.

Date: Thursday December 15th.

Meet: 6:00pm outside Balzac’s coffee shop – when you come through the main gates, keep heading straight (towards the huge Christmas tree) – there ought to be space to meet up between the tree and the car park.

Route: Yeah, there’s no route – we’ll probably need to break into small groups (in order to negotiate our way through the crowd). I’m sure we’ll meet up at the beer garden for some mulled wine
