Revised plan – note especially the change in start point:
Date: Saturday 23rd July 2011.
Dinner: 6:00pm Pre-walk dinner at Harbour Sports Grille; we’ll leave by 7:15pm.
Meet: 7:30pm Meet at ferry docks; catch 7:45pm ferry to Ward’s Island. Note: return fare is $6.50 per person.
On the Island: We’ll set up on Ward’s Island. Sunset is approx 8:50pm.
Route: We’ll aim to take the 9:30pm back (next ferry is 10:15pm!) then follow the route north (mostly) on Yonge St. [map]
Post-walk: Pogue Mahone … or elsewhere if we want to stop earlier 🙂

So much for our plan! There was a huge downpour just as we were getting ready to leave the bar – it was so bad that we decided we wouldn’t get a good sunset (but we would get soaked), so instead we walked along Queens Quay to Shoeless Joe’s (and still got soaked!). Some people chose to brave the weather and headed over to Ward’s Island, and a few were already over there, so at least the rest of us got to see what we missed. 🙂
