Note: Saturday because Jun19 is Father’s Day.
Date: Saturday, June 18th.
Meet: at Jack Layton Ferry Terminal; we’ll catch the 10:15 ferry to Hanlan’s Point, so either buy tickets online or arrive in sufficient time to buy them there. The ferry schedule (expand “summer schedule” section) says the Hanlan’s Point ferry departs at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour.
Note: Adult fare is $7.50 (return); Student/Senior fare is $5.00 (return).
Morning: Ned Hanlan statue; plaque for Babe Ruth’s first professional home run; Gibraltar Point lighthouse; Manitou beach; up to the pier then down to the new maze and the regatta course.
Lunch: Nothing booked but there are lots of food stalls on the island.
Afternoon: There’s usually a large crowd for the Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival, so we’ll break into smaller groups. There’s an event map on their site; the competitors’ area is open to the public. There’s also Centreville theme park and Far Enough Farm close by.
Return to mainland: Meet at the fountain at 5pm. Line-up for the ferry back from Centre Island is always long, so (we’ll decide at that time) we can catch the ferry from Ward’s Island or back at Hanlan’s Point.
Post-walk: Firkin On Harbour – confirmed; 5:30pm; separate bills
Hashtag: “TOPW:DBRF16”
Walk Leader: Paul (647-388-5356); if you are lost or want to join us at another time during our walk, call/text so we can let you know where we are.
Don’t forget to get your ticket online (https://secure.toronto.ca/FerryTicketOnline/tickets/index.jsp) or arrive early to line-up to buy it there. We’re catching the 10:15 to Hanlan’s Point.
