NOTE: The Jan18 walk has been cancelled due to adverse weather forecast.
Thanks to Michael for organising our first real walk of the year.
Meet at Merchants of Green, 2 Matilda St, to head out at 10am (Come early and have a coffee or tea).
Route: Through Joel Weeks Park, Thompson Street, along Munroe Street and onto Queen Street East. Queen to Broadview Ave south to Eastern Ave and over to Carlaw Ave. South on Carlaw Ave to Lake Shore Blvd. Close to the south end of Carlaw there is a Habitat Restore we can pop into to take a look-see inside. West along the Lake Shore to the Keating Railway Bridge (Don River) and onto the Lower Don River Trail, under the Gardiner Expressway until Cherry Street, then going north on Cherry Street to the Distillery District for lunch. Nothing booked but we have a few options. If the weather is crappy we can shorten the walk by going down Booth Ave instead of Carlaw.
There’s even a map! https://www.plotaroute.com/route/1000674
After lunch is walkers’ choice for those who want to continue.
