Jeff is leading another walk. NOTE: the route has been redesigned because Caribana means we can’t walk through Exhibition Place; the start & end locations are unchanged.
Date: August 3rd, 2024.
Meet for coffee & chats anytime after 9:00 am; we’ll be heading out to walk at 10:00 am.
Arvo Coffee, 80 Atlantic Ave south of King St West.Head out 10:00am. NOTE: the route has been redesigned because Caribana means we can’t walk through Exhibition Place; the start & end locations are unchanged.
Cut through the alleyway to Jefferson Ave, then south to Liberty St. We’ll zigzag generally south-west, taking Pardee Ave, then an alleyway to Fraser Ave, another to reach Mowat Ave, then another to hit Dufferin just north of Thorburn Ave. We’ll head west on Temple Ave to Tyndall Ave, then south until it meets Springhurst Ave. West again to Spencer Ave then north, cut through Spencer Cowan Park to Cowan Ave and continue north. When we reach King St we’ll walk east all the way to Fraser Ave, skirt around Lamport Stadium to reach Jefferson Ave. South of Liberty St we’ll find another alleyway, taking us east to Atlantic Ave, across to Hanna Ave and then into Liberty Market, ending at our lunch stop.

Walk Leader: Jeff, 416-423-2910.Jeff also mentioned few things to note for Saturday …
Parking: There may not be much parking available within a kilometre of Exhibition Place. You might want to park near the subway line, and take the TTC to and from Liberty Village.
Transit: GO Transit and the TTC will most likely be packed. It may be difficult to get to Liberty Village down Bathurst and Dufferin. Your best option for getting to Liberty Village may be to take the 63 Bus south from Ossington Station. Use the TTC Trip Planner, and give yourself an additional one half of an hour to one hour travel time. If you get to Liberty Village early, you can enjoy the area, the coffee shop, or the Caribana participants.
Caribana: Saturday is the Caribana’s Grande Parade, which takes place in Exhibition Place and along Lake Shore Boulevard. Even though we will be avoiding this area, there will be steady stream of people heading to that area. There should be opportunities to take photos of participants as they pass by.
