Port Credit, August 17th

We’re heading west to an area we’ve not explored in a long time – Allan Snow has planned a photowalk in Port Credit.

Date: August 17th, 2024.

Meet for coffee & chats anytime after 9:00am at Cafe Panchita, 152 Lakeshore Rd East.
If you’re coming in by GO train, it’s about a 10 minute walk (at normal, non-photographer pace) to the coffee shop.

Head out at 10:00am. We’ll go east on Lakeshore then south on Elmwood, down to the end where we can pick up the Waterfront Trail. The path continues west until it turns north, beside Helene St. Once we hit Port St we’ll turn right and walk east then north on St.Lawrence Drive. Head west on Lakeshore all the way to Stavebank Road, then south to the lake. Coming back up this path, but staying west of the Snug Harbour building this time, we’ll follow the northwesterly curve and cross the Credit River. South on Front St, taking the Waterfront Trail through JC Saddington Park, looping around to take John St back up to Lakeshore, across the river again and ending at our stop.

Lunch from 12:30pm at Pump House Grille, 40 Lakeshore Rd East at Stavebank Road. (The GO station is about 10 minutes NE of the pub.)

Allan added: When I was making arrangements for lunch at the Pump House, I found out that Buskerfest is on in Port Credit that weekend. It doesn’t start on Saturday until 1:00pm. This may be something that people may want to check out after lunch. According to the map it is only a couple of minutes from the Pump House.
