Downtown Mississauga Architecture and Latin Siesta

Allan is leading a walk taking in some downtown Mississauga architecture, including a post-lunch walk.

Date: Saturday, July 19th

Meet for coffee & chats anytime after 9:00am at Starbucks on Station Gate Rd, across from the City Centre Transit Terminal (200 Rathburn Road West)

Walk: 10:00am – Leave Starbucks and go west on Rathburn Rd West. Go South on Duke of York past Sheridan College and the arrow sign in the roundabout. Go in the Living Arts Centre and photograph the interior. Go to City Hall and photograph its exterior architecture plus go inside to the Great Hall. Cross Celebration Square and go in the Central Library and photograph its architecture.

Noon: Picnic style lunch at Celebration Square where the Latin Festival will be just starting. The food vendors should have Latin food (or bring a picnic lunch)

After Lunch and Latin Siesta: Go west on Burnhamthorpe and then south on Confederation to the Zig Zag towers. East on Webb, North on Duke of York, east on Burnhamthorpe to Kariya and photograph the little Japanese Kariya Park. Then cross Burnhamthorpe to photograph the Absolute (Marilyn) towers where the walk ends here near Burnhamthorpe and Hurontario.
Optional: Have a beer at Turtle Jack’s in the Sussex Centre.

Suggestion: Bring a very wide-angle lens.
