TOPW’s 7th anniversary, November 26th

Tuesday, October 18th, 2016

Another year has rolled around for Toronto PhotoWalks – November brings with it the 7th anniversary of the first TOPW walk!

We will be celebrating at Louis Cifer Brew Works on Saturday November 26th, starting at 5pm. We have the upstairs section but they do get very busy so they’ve asked us to arrive promptly as they may have to seat other people once they fill up downstairs.

We are hoping to set up a slideshow, so start picking out your favourite few shots from the past 12 months of photowalks. Instructions on how to send us those images will be added soon.

There’s also talk of a pre-party photowalk; we’ll update with details as they emerge. The important thing is to mark the date in your diary so you can join us!

TOPW’s 6th anniversary walk and party, November 21st

Monday, November 9th, 2015

November marks Toronto Photo Walks’ 6th anniversary! Georgette & Michael were press-ganged into organising the party, in addition to an afternoon walk; here’s the information so far…

On November 21st, we’ll meet after lunch for a walk together and then head over to the Hot House for dinner and celebrating.

Meet: 2pm at the entrance to The Distillery @ Mill Street/Trinity Street.

Route: Map @ https://www.plotaroute.com/route/134523

Dinner: 6pm at the Hot House at Front & Church.

Slideshow: If you want to add your photos to the slideshow (which will be shown during dinner), please follow the steps below:

  • pick your top 8 photos from the past year of TOPW walks
  • make sure to include your name in the photo titles
  • save them in JPEG format only, maximum 2MB per photo.
  • upload them to the Dropbox folder – you’ll be asked to enter your name & email address as part of the upload process. When you get the “Thanks! You’re all done” page, you don’t need to complete the form unless you want to sign up for a free Dropbox account.

TOPW 150th Walk, August 1st

Saturday, July 11th, 2015

It’s Toronto Photo Walks’ 150th Walk! Lizzie has designed us some T-shirts and Andrew has offered to host a potluck garden party.

First, the T-shirt info:

There are three styles – you can find pictures of them and the details of how to order them are Lizzie’s Flickr feed here.

To celebrate 150 walks we will walk in the morning and then have a potluck garden party in the afternoon in Andrew’s backyard.

Date: Saturday August 1st

Meet: 10:00am at Andrew’s House
, 40 Harriet St. – which is the first street north of Leslie & Gerrard
 [map]

Directions: TTC = 506 Streetcar from College or Main Stations / 72 Bus from Pape Station – get off at Gerrard and walk 1 block east
Drivers – it’s a long weekend, lots of my neighbours are off to the cottage so there should be parking on the street. If you get there and it is very full – ask me about special spots I have.

Morning: South on Hastings Ave; east on Gerrard; south on Alton Ave; east through Greenwood Park; north on Greenwood; east on Gerrard; north on Coxwell; west on Fairford; north on Woodfield; through Rail Garden and Monarch Park; west on Felstead; south on Greenwood; west on Wagstaff (via Left Field Brewery); west on Ivy Ave; south on Leslie; east on Harriet, ending back at Andrew’s House. [map]

Lunch: (12:30pm) A potluck lunch at Andrew’s (40 Harriet St., 1 block north of Leslie & Gerard) [map]
We will start at my house so that you can leave food & drink in the fridge while we walk.

No BBQ
Ken has kindly offered us a keg! 🙂
Near the end of the morning walk we will be passing by Left Field Brewery, which is open on Saturday.

My backyard has seating for 40, a large part is covered with a tarp and I’m still deciding on which parachute I will put up – the pink or the white.

Hashtag: “TOPW:150W”

Walk Leader: Andrew (416-462-3710 landline); morning walk contact is Paul (647-388-5356).
If you are lost or want to join us at another time during our walk, call/text so we can let you know where we are.

We know some TOPW regulars aren’t able to join us, so we’re also doing International Walks!

If you’re not able to join us in person, then do a remote TOPW walk wherever you are! Just remember to take photos of the walking (and drinking), then tag & post them with everyone else’s 150th celebration shots.

TOPW’s 5th Anniversary Party, November 15th

Saturday, September 20th, 2014

Five years? Five years! Yes, it’s Toronto Photo Walks’ 5th Anniversary Party!

Where: Upstairs at Harbord House, 150 Harbord St., Toronto, Ontario M5S 1H2

When: Saturday November 15th, 5:00pm – 10:00pm (there may be a short afternoon walk beforehand).

Slideshow: We will be doing a slideshow of photos throughout the evening. You will be able to upload 5 photos from TOPW outings taken over this last anniversary year. Anything more than 5 photos will not be used. 1024px or bigger should be OK. Paul created a Dropbox folder that you can upload your photos into, called “TOPWparty2014“. If you don’t want to receive all the updates as others add their images you just have to disconnect from the Dropbox folder.

Menu: After talking with one of the owners, we decided we will all order from the regular Harbord House menu. It will be separate billing so although you can mingle, you must keep the same seat throughout the evening to make it easier for the wait staff to find you. Most of you know the drill. Don’t forget to pay your bill before you leave.
