Toronto Photo Walks

Thanks to Vicki for organising our anniversary party again, and to Phil for managing the special Flickr group we’ll use for the slideshow.

Before the party:
Please share your best shots from the past year of photo walks (i.e. since last year’s party) in our Flickr pool called “Toronto Photo Walks: Year Two In Pictures“. Please contact Phil if you have any problems with accessing the pool.

There’s no photo walk planned for that day but Jeff has suggested visiting the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair (info on Flickr thread).

Date: Saturday November 12th.
Meet: 5:00pm onwards; top floor of the 3 Brewers / les trois brasseurs, 275 Yonge Street (just south of Dundas Square).

Don’t forget: Bring $50 if you want to reserve a spot in the first TOPW Group Exhibition.

The October 1st walk is in conjunction with Scott Kelby’s 4th annual Worldwide Photo Walk (#WWPW).

The walk details are on the WWPW website; I’ll be confirming the details (and sending out an email) shortly.

Please note: the walk is capped at 50 people and we hit that a while ago, so please don’t join up – the waiting list already has over a dozen people on it! Instead, there’s a walk in the Beach(es) or maybe look further afield.

Date: Saturday 6th August 2011.

Meet: 10:00am at St. George Subway (St. George and Bloor).

Morning route: Explore the west side of the campus.

Lunch: Bocca on Baldwin, 26 Baldwin Street, one block west of McCaul. (~12:30pm; confirmed.)

Afternoon: Walk along College and head up the East side of the campus up to Bloor, over to the other side of University Ave. campus, cross Queens park and complete east side of campus.

Post-walk: Sin and Redemption, 136 McCaul Street (~6:00pm; confirmed.)

Revised plan – note especially the change in start point:

Date: Saturday 23rd July 2011.

Dinner: 6:00pm Pre-walk dinner at Harbour Sports Grille; we’ll leave by 7:15pm.

Meet: 7:30pm Meet at ferry docks; catch 7:45pm ferry to Ward’s Island. Note: return fare is $6.50 per person.

On the Island: We’ll set up on Ward’s Island. Sunset is approx 8:50pm.

Route: We’ll aim to take the 9:30pm back (next ferry is 10:15pm!) then follow the route north (mostly) on Yonge St. [map]

Post-walk: Pogue Mahone … or elsewhere if we want to stop earlier

Meet: 9:00am (yes, 9am!) at the Henry’s Store at Queen and Church Street. [map]

Morning: Henry’s are providing coffee and bagels, and there’ll be a short (~30mins) presentation, so please try to arrive promptly. (Reminder: our Henry’s discount code is 17594 for 10% off accessories – read more.)
If anyone is skipping / can’t make it to the Henry’s breakfast, then I expect we’ll be setting off from there about 9:45, but as always you can call me (647-388-5356) after 9:45 and I’ll let you know where we are.

Afternoon: University Ave; cut through UofT; aim for Tim Horton’s at St.George for “We Demand Doughnuts”
