It’s been a few years since we’ve shot the Winter Stations. If you’re not familiar with it, “WinterStations is an international design competition to bring temporary public art installations to, The Beaches of Toronto, in an exciting exhibition to celebrate Toronto’s winter waterfront landscape” (according to their Facebook page).
Date: March 2nd, 2024
Meet for coffee & chats at 9:30 AM, Starbucks, 1842 Queen Street East
It’s just east of the intersection of Queen East, Eastern Ave and Kingston Road, so there are transit options. (There’s parking nearby but the Beaches can be a nightmare at times!)We will begin the walk at 10:00 AM
We’ll head to Woodbine Park, then south to Woodbine Beach where we’ll find most of the installations. East along the boardwalk, almost to Leuty Lifeguard Station (although we may make a brief detour to shoot it) then up through Kew Gardens to Queen Street. Head east to Ivan Forrest Gardens at Glen Manor Drive.
After checking out all the Winter Stations we’ll walk west on Queen to Kenilworth Ave to a new Irish bar, The Wolfe Tone.
