Thanks to Jerome for planning & leading this walk.
Date: Saturday October 19th.
Burlington, a sleepy bedroom community west of Toronto. A quaint town with all the amenities of an average Toronto neighbourhood… the smallest one! A city that measures its crime events in ripples, not waves. A place where the mayor is sober in public and city council doesn’t debate subway plans endlessly… heck, we’re still celebrating the installation of our first traffic light last year!
But I digress!
Meet: Meet at 10:00am at northwest corner of Brant Street and Lakeshore Road, outside the Second Cup. [map]
Parking – There is FREE daily parking located at 425 Pearl Street. There is pay parking at the Waterfront Parking Garage at 414 Locust Street. If you are driving, come down Brant Street, NOT Guelph Line. There is construction on Lakeshore Road between Guelph Line and Brant, which has closed the westbound lane.
GO Train & Burlington Transit – Take the 8:43 train from Union Station on the Lakeshore West line, which will put you at the Burlington GO Station ay 9:42. Take the Burlington Transit No.2 Bus to travel directly to the walk start point. Perhaps some of those driving would be kind enough to pick you up from the GO station if you ask nicely!
Teleportation – Sorry, those things don’t exist yet!
Lunch: Emma’s Back Porch, 2084 Old Lakeshore Road (to be confirmed)
Post-walk: The Queen’s Head, 400 Brant Street (to be confirmed)
Hashtag: please use “TOPW:BURB”
