Beltline to Mount Pleasant Cemetery, September 28th

Posted on September 22, 2019September 28, 2019 by Paul Henman

Our next photowalk will be hosted by Michael Whiston.

Date: Saturday, September 28, 10:00am – 4:00pm

NOTE: Michael Whiston has postponed the Beltline walk to Sunday (Sep29) due to weather conditions, transit disruptions, protests etc.

Meet: 9:30am at Timothy’s World Coffee, 1070 Eglinton Avenue West, at the northeast corner of Eglinton Avenue and Old Park Road.

There is no access to the sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue, to the east of Eglinton West Subway Station. Pedestrians must go west from the subway entrance across the end of the Allen Road, south across Eglinton Avenue, east to Everden Road, south to the entrance to Ben Nobleman Parkette, northeast to the south side of Eglinton, east along Eglinton to the southeast corner of Eglinton and Glen Cedar Road, north across Eglinton to Timothy’s.

Morning: For those who are ready to walk right at 10:00am, we’ll head to the start of the Kay Gardiner Beltline Trail at Allen Road, and then head east on the Beltline. For those who may still be finishing their coffee at 10:00 am, we’ll walk north from Timothy’s along Old Park Road to the Beltline. The entire group will then head east along the Beltline to the northwest corner of Mount Pleasant Cemetery (on the east side of Yonge Street). By this time, everyone will be hungry and thirsty—or vice versa.

Lunch: 12:30pm at The Bull: A Firkin Pub, 1835 Yonge Street, on the east side just north of Merton Street.

The Bull (and Yonge Street) can be accessed by going north on Al Green Lane to Merton Street, west on Merton to Yonge, and north on Yonge to the pub.

Afternoon: We’ll wander through the portion of Mount Pleasant Cemetery west of Mount Pleasant Road, ending back at Yonge Street. For the hardiest of photo walkers, a pub can be found further down Yonge Street.

Contact: Michael Whiston’s mobile at 647-939-2546 or Jeff Stewart at 416-423-2910.
