Hair of the Dog 2025

As is tradition, we’re starting 2025 with a walk on January 1st and it’s called the “Hair of the Dog” because some people might be recovering from New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Date: Wednesday, January 1st, 2025

Meet for coffee & chats anytime after 9:00am at Tim Hortons, 547 Gerrard St East (just west of Broadview)

Walk: 10:00am start; we’ll head up St. Matthews Rd and along the Riverdale Trail on the west side of Bridgepoint. Take the bridge over the DVP, Don River, railway lines and Bayview Ave, then continue west on the path around the north of Lower Riverdale Pond and into Riverdale Farm. Exit the farm and head to Winchester and Sumach Street. Stay on Winchester to Sackville St; head north on Sackville to Salisbury Ave. Zigzag northwest along Salisbury, Schawlow Lane, Prohibition Lane, then west on Amelia St. When we reach Parliament St we’ll turn south, down to Lancaster Ave; south on Flos William Lane; rejoin Winchester St heading west. At the SW corner of Winchester school, where Winchester St turns into Ontario St, we’ll walk north beside Winchester Park. The path becomes Ontario St and we’ll continue north to Wellesley then turn west and follow it to Homewood Ave. South on Homewood, then west on Maitland Place; after crossing Jarvis we’ll turn south on Mutual St; west on Alexander St; south on Church St to Wood St, where we’ll stop for lunch.
