Seasonal Lights night walk, December 17th

Sunday, December 18th, 2011

Sorry about posting this after the fact, but it was organised at short notice and only “declared an official walk” during the walk! I’m really only creating this entry so that I have a record of the walk, it’s hashtag (TOPW:SL) and somewhere to attach the slideshow.

Yorkville, December 11th

Tuesday, December 7th, 2010

Yorkville was quite the runaway winner in the last poll. The plan is (more than a little) bit vague at the moment – I’ll try fill in the blanks tonight!

Date: Saturday 11th December 2010.
Meet: 10:00am, north-east corner of Yonge & Bloor (hopefully away from the worst of the construction).
Route: It’s complicated! Check out the map! [Toronto Santa Speedo Run starts at Hemingways at 1:30pm]
Please shout if there’s something worth seeing that I should add to the route!
Lunch: Hemingways (reservation is for noon)
Post-walk: The Bedford Academy – to be confirmed
Hashtag: please use “TOPW:YV2” (A few of us walked Yorkville in November 2009, so this is YV2!)

Yorkville, November 28th

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

I’ve not walked this area in a while, but I’m thinking we head west along Cumberland, up Avenue Rd (past the Ferrari showroom!), through Ramsen Park (we’ll take Roxborough if the park’s too muddy), along Pears Ave then up Yonge and past Rosedale subway (along Crescent Road), cut through the park there (don’t know its name), then head back via Park Rd, Collier St and Yorkville Ave.

Google maps says it’s about 4km and would take about 50 minutes at “normal” walking pace, so I’m thinking 3-4 hours at photographers pace 🙂

Of course we can adjust the route depending on time, what we see / want to see, etc. but I thought I’d come up with an initial plan.
